Инфляционный разрыв
Величина, на которую совокупный спрос превышает уровень потенциального ВНП при полной занятости ресурсов. Поскольку в условиях полной занятости дальнейшее расширение производства невозможно, избыточный спрос вызывает рост цен. Иными словами, реальный объем производства остается неизменным, а его денежная или номинальная стоимость увеличивается. Инфляционный разрыв можно проиллюстрировать графически:
График совокупного предложения представляет собой прямую линию, проведенную под углом в 45 град. от начала координат: фирмы производят ровно столько продукции, сколько они реально могут продать. Однако как только достигается полная занятость ресурсов OY1, производство больше не может увеличиваться, и график совокупного предложения становится вертикальной линией. Если бы совокупный спрос находился на уровне AD, экономика функционировала бы в условиях полной занятости без инфляции (точка Е). Однако если бы совокупный спрос достиг уровня AD1, т.е. стал бы избыточным, образовался бы инфляционный разрыв ЕG и как результат увеличилась бы цена. Чтобы справиться с проблемой чрезмерных расходов, государственные власти используют рычаги фискальной и денежно-кредитной политики для сокращения совокупного спроса. Ср.: Deflationary gap.
